Akshay Kumar turns a year older day. Unfortunately, it’s not celebration day for the Kumar household as the superstar lost his mother a day ago on Wednesday. Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia was hospitalised in Mumbai a couple of days ago and passed away on Wednesday morning.

Today, Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to share an adorable throwback picture with his mother on the occasion of his birthday. In the picture, Akshay can be seen getting a peck on his cheek from his mother.

Sharing the picture, Akshay wrote, "Would have never liked it this way but am sure mom is singing Happy Birthday to me from right up there! Thanks to each one of you for your condolences and wishes alike. Life goes on."

On Wednesday, while informing the demise of his mother, Akshay had posted, "She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti"

On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in the film Bellbottom. The actor was shooting for Cinderella in London until a few days ago.

On Bigg Boss OTT, things aren't going well with Raqesh Bapat and Shamita Shetty. Recently, the two have been squabbling on the show, which has viewers concerned. Shamita revealed that her first lover died in a car accident during her tumultuous relationship with Raqesh.

Shamita confided in fellow Bigg Boss OTT contestant Neha Bhasin and spoke up about her former relationship in a live feed from the programme.

Shamita was all in tears when she told Neha about the crash. “For so long, meri zindagi mein, I didn't allow anybody, mujhe itna waqt laga (it took me a lot of time) to get myself together, to put the pieces back together,” she said.

Neha consoled her while also attempting to persuade her about Raqesh.

Since the beginning of Bigg Boss OTT, Shamita and Raqesh have had a relationship. Raqesh and Shamita have intimated that they are drawn to each other in recent weeks. Shamita recently admitted to Neha that she likes Raqesh, but she doesn't appreciate his indecisiveness.

Shamita also made self-sacrifice, tearing up a letter from her family she got last week in order to preserve Raqesh from extinction. Later, she received another letter from her family, this time from her mother, in which she expressed her love for Raqesh. 

Bigg Boss OTT is a six-week digital spinoff of the popular reality show Bigg Boss. Before the aired version of the show begins, the series is now streaming on Voot.

The soon to release horror comedy Bhoot Police, starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez is gearing up for an OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar. In fact, Bollywood Hungama was the first to inform you that the film was forgoing a conventional theatrical release to premiere on the streaming app. While there still is time for the film to release, we came across these images from the sets of when Taimur Ali Khan visited his father.

The images of Taimur sitting on Saif Ali Khan’s lap in between shots shows the little munchkin watching everything happening on sets. In one image little Tim looks a bit upset by what he sees as he puffs up his cheeks making a face. One thing is for sure, after seeing these images, 'take your kid to work' day should be made official.

As for the film, Bhoot Police sees Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor play Vibhooti and Chiraunji respectively, who go around catching ghosts. While Vibhooti sees their profession as a way to con people, Chiraunji takes his work quite seriously. Produced by Ramesh Taurani, Akshai Puri and co-produced by Jaya Taurani, the film is directed by Pavan Kriplani.

On Wednesday, actor Shefali Shah took to Instagram to share some behind-the-shoot pictures with Alia Bhatt and Vijay Verma from their upcoming film Darlings. As the film shoot is completed, Shefali can’t wait to share it with the audience.

In the photos, Shefali is seen having fun time on the sets of the film with the team and co-stars. She also shared some monochrome moments from the film that looks interesting.

Earlier, Alia Bhatt shared a video of her journey on her Instagram handle announcing the film wrap. She also penned a note that read, ''Darlings, it's a wrap!! We have done our best to make a film that we are hoping you will love! See you at the movies (P.S. - Missed you!! @shefalishahofficial @roshan.matthew)'' Vijay Verma also shared the same video on her social media handle and shared that he had a great time working for the film.

On the work front, besides Darlings, Shefali will also be seen in Doctor G, co-starring  Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh.

Actor Mrunal Thakur has now become a big name in Bollywood after she starred in films like Super 30, Ghost Stories and most recently in Toofaan. She now has more big projects in her kitty including Jersey, Aankh Micholi and the Hindi remake of Tamil film, Thadam opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. But one can never forget that Mrunal was a popular household name as she starred in Kumkum Bhagya.

It has been a long time since she left TV, but Mrunal is still in contact with her close friends and co-stars from Kumkum Bhagya. On Wednseday, she reunited with her friends from the show which included Arjit Taneja, Supriya Shukla, Charu Mehra, Shikha Singh and leading lady herself, Sriti Jha. However, some of them are also not part of the show, they still share a great bond.

Kumkum Bhagya is soon going to complete 2000 episodes and the show recently completed seven years of runtime.

The casting for Heera Mandi has begun in right earnest. Among the actresses likely to be a part of the cast are Alia Bhatt, Huma Qureshi, Sonakshi Sinha and Tanvi Azmi. The deal with Netflix is for seven episodes of Heera Mandi in Season 1 followed by seven more episodes in Season 2.

An informed source reveals, “The first episode is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself. The other 6 episodes will be directed by Bhansali’s erstwhile assistant Vibhu Puri.”

The series will have an abundance of songs and music, all composed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Heera Mandi is being designed as Bhansali’s own Pakeezah.

Says Bhansali, “Though there is no similarity in the plot except the tawaif (courtesan) angle of Heera Mandi would be my tribute to one of my favourite films Pakeezah. However the tribute is neither visual not emotional. It is more in spirit than in flesh.”

Says Sanjay Leela Bhansali, "How can Pakeezah not be at the back of a director's mind when he is making a film about the tawaif culture? However Heera Mandi won't resemble Pakeezah in look or mood. We already have Pakeezah. There is no need for another."

Like every year, actress Shilpa Shetty celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi and brings Ganpati home with a lot of fanfare to celebrate the 11-day festival. On Wednesday, Shilpa, keeping with ritual, brought Ganpati idol home and began the festivities.

While heading home with the Ganpati idol, Shilpa was clicked by the paparazzi. She waved while carrying the idol. Usually Shilpa celebrates the festival with her family members, but this time she was seen alone as the actress is going through a rough patch as her husband Raj Kundra is arrested in porn apps case. She even took some time off from SonyTV’s Super Dancer Chapter 4, where she acts as a judge.

In a statement made by her last month requested the media to respect her privacy, however, she refused to make any comment on the case. Shilpa, a few days ago, did spoke about living life to the fullest irrespective of any low, sharing an excerpt from a book, on her instagram story, which talks about seizing the day. The excerpt read,’ we can’t push the ‘pause’ button on our lives. Every day counts, whether we’re doing our best or our worst. Even if we could call a time out when life becomes stressful, would we really want to? Our life’s clock keeps ticking no matter what. The only thing we truly have is time. Better to live every moment than to lose that time forever. As much as I may want to call a time out in my life, I will live every moment as fully as I can.”

Shilpa is currently a part of SonyTV’s Super Dancer Chapter 4 as a judge. She was last featured in Priyadarshan’s comedy film Hungama 2 which released earlier this year on Disney+Hotstar.

Amitabh Bachchan is currently hosting the 13th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and is super interactive with the contestants. Recently, in an episode, Tushar Bharadwaj, who is dean of student activities at a hostel, came as a contestant. When he asked Big B about his hostel days, the actor recalled his memories and revealed he was once caned for secretly playing billiards.

Amitabh shared that he and his four friends loved to play billiards but only class 10 students were allowed to play the game. So, he along with his four friends would sneak out at night to play the game in the billiards room. Big B further shared that once they were caught by the warden, who then beat them with a cane. He said that earlier, there were three categories of caning - two, four and six, the last one for kids who snuck out of the hostel.

Amitabh revealed that he was beaten four times with the cane that day and they were not even allowed to shout while getting the punishment and had to say ‘thank you sir’ instead. As he was in a boys hostel, so they had one dormitory with a huge bathroom with 30-40 showers. All the kids used to bathe together and would found if someone had been beaten up with black marks on their posterior. Big B’s story made the entire audience burst into laughter. However, he concluded by informing everyone that caning is now illegal in India.

Last week former cricketers Saurav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag came as guests in KBC 13 and this week Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan will grace the special episode.

On the work front, Amitabh was last seen in Rumy Jafry’s Chehre. He has   ‘Jhund’, ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Butterly’, ‘Mayday’, ‘Good Bye’, an untitled project by Nag Ashwin and the Hindi remake of ‘The Intern’ opposite Deepika Padukone in his pipeline.

Malavika Mohanan is one of the most popular stars of the South Indian film industry. While she is gearing up for her Bollywood debut, she has already made her way into the Hindi film industry with her striking social media presence. On Wednesday, Malavika shared a picture with her favourite actor Ranbir Kapoor. The picture was shot on the sets of an ad film.
